Our next Q&A of the month is all about Kelly O'Hagan! Kelly is near and dear to us as she has been with Haugaard Creative for 5 years now. She is moving on to her next adventure and will be headed to Denver shortly. We wish her the best of luck. We will miss you Kelly!
Name: Kelly O’Hagan
Hometown: West Bloomfield, MI
Position: Graphic Designer
College: The New England Institute of Art
What are your favorite hobbies?
I love travelling, even if it’s just a weekend trip. Paddle boarding, hand-lettering, going to concerts and trying new activities with my friends.
What lead you to Haugaard Creative?
I was lucky enough to be Haugaard’s very first intern! After I graduated, my sisters friend, a talent agent, knew I was looking to get into the package design field. She had also heard Haugaard Creative was looking for a summer intern. After an interview, a 3-month internship and a 3-month part-time gig with Haugaard they offered me a full time position as a graphic designer! 5 years later and it’s still the best decision I ever made.
What is your favorite food?
Lasagna. I’m still trying to find one that tastes better than the Lasagna I had at a little mom and pop restaurant on the beach in Belize…15 years ago.
Why do you love working at Haugaard Creative?
The team! Hands down, this is the best crew to work with. Everybody here works so well together; we challenge each other professionally, we are there for each other when life gets tough and we can make each other laugh like it’s our job. There is never a dull moment in this office.
What were you like in high school?
Probably trying to be cooler than I actually was :)
What inspires you?
My surroundings. I love observing what’s going on around me and taking in everything I see.
What are your favorite movies?
The Little Rascals and How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days.
If you had just one box for all of your belongings, what would you put in it?
Can I use the “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” machine?!
Realistically…probably too many clothes/shoes, a large tube of red lipstick, my phone/computer (that housed ALL of my pictures for memories) and a really cozy blanket.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
Oooh this changes frequently but currently I am dreaming of the Greek Islands or Cinque Terre, Italy.
